northwestern part of the Department of Meta, near Guacavia River boundary with
the Department of Cundinamarca and provides one of the best tourist attractions
in your bathroom fresh and plentiful water . Gradually the road away from the
foothills and located Cumaral to start a small prairie mountains adorned with
fascinating landscapes.
The
name comes Cumaral Cumare Palms , which after its foundation was wild
throughout the region . It is located northwest of the Department of Meta. The
Cumare ( Astrocarium Vulgare Mert Aiara , coquerio tucum piranga ) was formerly
abundant in the plains. New bud , ripiadas and twisted leaves , indigenous make
the ropes , belts and fabrics characteristic of Amazonian peoples hammocks
simple and cute ornaments with elegant tassels , so elegant and useful in the
prairie ranch. The graceful palm Cumare is part of the beauty of the prairie
landscape as the song says Luis Ariel Rey . There , yeah, yeah , I 'm not from
around here . There , yes , yes, I come from Casanare, there , yeah, yeah ,
like coconut , and palm cumare . In addition to its industrial utility scenic
beauty element , the Cumare has sheltered his name almost three centuries to
the target population of this minimonografía .
Cumaral
has existed since the seventeenth century , as Upía Canyon , Cabuyaro and San
Martin , and like the latter two are based on three different sites where they
are situated today . The first Cumaral is mentioned in a report presented by
Father Fray Agustin Gomez, pastor of San Juan de Arama, the Father Fray
Clemente Forero , curator of the Plains reductions, the October 15, 1750 .
After enumerating several tribes , as Camoas San Martin and others, says:
" There are other Indians, who have many years that have remained in the
land , who were the people of Cumaral , it's over ." So it can be assumed
that before 1750 had long since disappeared primitive Cumaral , mentioned in
the book civilizing work of the Church in Colombia , PP Fernandez Granados,
page 218. The second Cumaral was founded on a site near the Laguna Pueblo,
about six kilometers from the present , on the livestock Medina Road and beside
the pipe Mayuga . According to traditions , Cumaral existed in 1800 ,
simultaneously as a parish , as Upía Canyon . Employers were San Roque in
Cumaral and Santa Barbara Canyon Upía . In 1850 by ordinance of the Provincial
House of Bogotá No.106 of October 21, 1850 , two parish districts are created
in the canton of St. Martin , the one composed of the territory comprising the
former village of Cumaral that " Parish District called Serviez "and
the other , composed of the territory comprising the former village of
Gramalote , to be called " Parish District Villavicencio " . The
second item ordered authorities to provide new districts created " and all
elements of progress and civilization that determine the laws ." The
parish district Serviez , Cumaral appears visited by the pastor of St. Martin ,
which left some notes in the books of Medina . The disaster was the worst epidemic
of yellow fever, which literally destroyed the peaceful town built near the
Laguna Pueblo in 1901 , on the sidewalk of the same name .
The
Cumaral today began in 1917 , six kilometers north of the Laguna Pueblo near
the Guacavia River in the territory donated by GeneralAVELINO ROSES . His first
name was Boca de Monte, because I wanted to build where it ended the jungle
from Villavicencio and Restrepo covered the piedmont zone , which began
Savannah, Boca de Monte was founded porMANUEL SAAVEDRA HERNANDEZ, EUSTORGIO
FINCH MACHADO, FAUSTINO POLISHED RED , HAPPY A. PEÑA , JORGE VARELA , JOSE
GENAY , DAVID HERNANDEZ AND OLIVER CASTRO . Manuel Hernández Saavedra donated a
beautiful cup to complete the outfit of divine worship . Eustorgius Finch built
with wood Monte Boca statues of the Virgin of Carmen and San Roque Parish
Patron . These were the works of mercy on those founders believers. Considering
that the territory was invaded palm Cumare changed the name Boca de Monte by
poetic CUMARAL that , like other llaneras towns located several days of Bogotá
difficult horse trails , slept the peaceful sleep village for half a century .
